University of Arizona students win state award for City of Tucson transportation corridor project

The Arizona Chapter of the American Planning Association recently awarded a group of urban planning students from the University of Arizona the 2022 Student Project Award. The students from the College of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture MS Urban Planning program worked with partners from the City of Tucson to focus on transit investment impacts, local policy and land use tools, climate resilience, social needs, and economic prosperity in the Broadway Blvd. corridor in Tucson.
Student team members included Garrett Aldrete, Jacob Burg, Noah Cannold, Ben Carpenter, Longhao Guo, Melanie Olson, Chrissy Scarpitti, and Nathalia Untiveros. Students were supervised by Prof. Kristina Currans.
